Veterans

The "We Honor Veterans Program" is a collaboration between the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Hospice of the Fisher Home is proud to have achieved We Honor Veterans Partner -Level Three.

 

This program invites hospices and VA facilities to partner together in recognizing the unique and important needs of America’s veterans and their families. This partnership with the VA assists and educates hospices in learning how to accompany and guide veterans, especially combat veterans, through their life stories toward a more peaceful and compassionate end of life experience. 

 

We Honor Veterans works to advance these goals:

• Promotes education, including veterans' benefits

• Increases organizational capacity to serve veterans

• Acknowledges and honor veterans' military service commitment

• Supports development of strategic partnerships

• Increases access to veterans
