Residential Care

The residential care program at the Hospice of the Fisher Home is for those who wish to receive round-the-clock care in our hospice residence.

Our hospice residence is an intimate and homelike environment where family members are welcome at all times. There is a private bedroom for each patient, as well as a shared dining room, living room, and kitchen.

The clinical staff at our hospice residence is a multidisciplinary team that includes a medical doctor, registered hospice nurses, certified nursing assistants, social worker, and spiritual and bereavement counselor.  The nurses and nursing assistants, available 24 hours a day, are experts in comfort care and use the latest methods of pain and symptom management to enable patients to live as fully and comfortably as possible.

Our spiritual and bereavement counselor meets frequently with patients and their loved ones to guide them through the emotional and social challenges that often accompany the end of life. Our social worker assists with social, emotional, and financial issues, and connects families with other community resources when needed. Everyone on the team has specialized hospice training and a deep dedication to helping our patients experience peace, dignity, and moments of joy.

We also have a team of trained and committed volunteers who perform a variety of helpful tasks, such as cooking meals to order at any time of day, reading aloud, playing music, or just sitting quietly with those who want company.

Compassion, respect, and preservation of dignity are the hallmarks of care at the Fisher Home.

"My aunt's decision to move into the Fisher Home was the best decision she could have made, both for herself and for her family. There she was encouraged and supported to live each day that remained."
