Testimonials

"The greatest gift you gave us was the ability to be truly present with Dad during his last days, as his family, not exhausted from the primary caregiver role of 24/7. You preserved his dignity and allowed him the freedom to be who he was until his last days. You helped us get him outside every day (we were blessed with a beautiful fall) and tended to him as a whole person, always sensitive to his need for control with all he was dealing with and processing…. We hope that you will continue to serve a very real and special need to the people of Western Mass."

"We came to you frightened and heartbroken, and all of you stepped up and opened your hearts to each of us."

"Please know that your efforts, which allowed her to die in her home were not, and are not, invisible to her family."

"You understood that she most needed to come to peace with her declining physical abilities. Her last journey was going to be a long one. With your poached eggs and gentle encouragements you bolstered my mother’s physical strength, and with your bird feeders and gardens, you rekindled her interests. Volunteers shared their love of poetry and art, and she began to appreciate her many rich memories. It was that 'inner eye' that carried her through and provided her with peace."

"Here, my father is treated with care, respect and kindness. People care how he is doing, how he is feeling. My father has people looking in on him because they want to—not because it is on his chart to be monitored so many times per day. When I visit, I find people just sitting with him, talking about the day, their families, the birds. When I have questions, they listen and answer as best they can. It is clear they keep Dad’s needs first and foremost, but with the same kindness and respect they give Dad, they give to his family."
